phs Compliance began working with custodial & justice clients of our Tier 1 facilities management provider in 2017 delivering internal & external LED lighting replacement works, electrical power distribution works, and other minor electrical works.

The sites are all closed prisons with challenging operational environments, ageing infrastructure and significant occupation levels.

Delivering electrical works in a 24-7/365 operational prison environment is a major operational challenge. All engineers had to be security cleared in order to be permitted to work and escorts were needed throughout our time on site. Engineers worked in pairs, worked through normal daily hours and were PASMA and IPAF-certified. Due to security measures across these Category A & B prisons, anti-tamper and anti-ligature lighting was specified for these secure locations. We sourced these specialist products well in advance of works commencing.

It was imperative that all works were tightly planned & scheduled in order to complete on time and to budget. It was essential too that we communicated closely and effectively with all prison staff in affected areas to avoid disruption to operations. Partnership working & effective communications between us all proved critical to success. phs Compliance also carefully selected the most energy-efficient LED floodlights available, offering between 50-70% energy savings per floodlight.

phs Compliance completed all works on time to budget. LED replacement systems were fitted professionally, now making external & internal lighting more energy-efficient, and contributing significantly to energy cost and carbon reduction measures.

"phs Compliance were chosen based on previous quality work at nearby prison sites. phs Compliance were great to deal with from quotation stage through to completion of works. Installations were completed with minimum disruption to the prison regime and security measures"
"phs Compliance advised on further energy saving upgrades, including installing industrial grade pumps to wing shower blocks which again was completed to a high standard and with minimal fuss"
Good to work with, and good relationships with all phs operatives are now established. We’ll continue to use phs Compliance going forwards."
