Fire Alarm Testing
Fire Alarm Testing is an absolutely essential component of Health & Safety for any employer. Ensuring that a company’s Fire Alarm Systems are tested should be a matter of routine.
Why Have Fire Alarms Tested?
Over time smoke detectors naturally become dirty and batteries worn, therefore it is essential to have a regular test performed and documented to ensure your Fire Alarm System works correctly so providing additional safety for employees.
What happens if I don’t have them tested?
If your company does not have a regular Fire Alarm Testing programme in place and any persons are injured by fire after your alarm failed to operate, then without the proper service documentation your company may be liable for prosecution.
Will Testing Disrupt The Workplace?
All electrical equipment testing procedures cause some disruption but our staff are fully trained to keep this to an absolute minimum.
During Fire Alarm Testing, checks are performed on all the following:
- Main panel
- Batteries
- Heat detectors
- Smoke detectors
- Break glass units
- Sirens
