Fire Detection & Warning Systems
Detection systems
Fire detection and warning is essential in protecting your building and employees from the devastation of fire. Effective and reliable detection and warning systems can facilitate the safe and swift evacuation of people. Detection is also crucial in locating, containing and extinguishing the fire.
With a wide range of system types and options, PHS Compliance can offer sound and impartial advice on the most appropriate solutions for your company’s fire safety needs.
Detection and warning systems offered by PHS Compliance include:
- Manual alarms
- Site alarms
- Conventional fire alarms
- Analogue addressable alarms
- Optical/ionisation/heat/beam detectors
- Air sampling detection
- Sounders/beacons
Decibel SurveyPHS Compliance can carry out a decibel survey to determine the type of sounders, strobes and bells needed to meet site specific requirements and report on compliance in all areas.
System Design
Following a free survey and quotation, PHS Compliance can design, supply and commission a wide range of detection and warning equipment. All systems are designed to the strict guidelines of BS 5839 part 1 2002 and can be customised to meet individual company requirements and any BS Classification.
System Types
PHS Compliance can supply and install a wide range of detection systems to cover specific risks as required. All equipment supplied complies with current standards.
Conventional Alarms
A well proven technology protecting hundreds of thousands of properties world-wide. Connected to a fire control panel, the alarm gives zoned indication of an activation.
Analogue Addressable Fire Panels
Designed for maximum adaptability, the panel gives accurate information on the location of fires, faults and system status.
Optical Detector
An extremely reliable product which is activated when smoke enters the optical chamber.
Ionisation Detector
Exceptionally efficient in detecting fast flaming fires. The system is activated by tiny smoke particles which enter the sensing chamber.
Heat Detector
Gives valuable, additional protection in areas such as kitchens where smoke detectors are not recommended. The alarm is triggered when the area around the sensor reaches a certain temperature.
Linear – Beam Detector
Activated when the beam s disturbed by the presence of smoke, this detector is an economical and safe choice for larger work spaces i.e factories.
Air Sampling
Can detect the presence of fire before smoke is visible. The system is activated by the presence of particles created in the very early stages of combustion.
Monitoring
For reliable and effective alarm monitoring, PHS Compliance recommends and supplies market-leading BT Redcare.
BT Redcare is one of the most secure forms of alarm monitoring available. The service provides continuous monitoring of the BT ttelephone line that links your alarm system to our Alarm Receiving Centre (ARC). The result is continuous protection of your property, every second of the day, 365 days a year.
Unlike other alarm monitoring services, Redcare alerts the Alarm Receiving Centre when it detects a line cut AND provides encryption to prevent the substitution of equipment or “spoofing” (emulation) of line conditions.
Key benefits and features:
- Active, continuous, two-way monitoring – 24 hours a day, 365 days a year
- High speed alarm transmission can summon help within a matter of seconds
- Encrypted signals which cannot be replicated
- Instant detection if your phone line has been cut
- No added re-programming costs, which may be necessary when areas are affected by code changes
- Ideal security and fire detection application for any home or business.
